Flying: What You Need to Know about Travel in 2021

See this content in the original post

Travel is back! Or we’re getting there.

As more people get vaccinated against covid-19, more countries are opening up — and the rules for flying are frequently changing.

Scott Keyes of Scott’s Cheap Flights has his finger on the pulse of everything airfare. He joined me on the LIVE Without Borders podcast to tell us what we need to know before booking or boarding our next flight (at least as of May 2021).

We discuss vaccine passports, which countries are more open, whether we missed out on the airfare sales we saw during the pandemic and more.

According to Scott, the number of people searching for flights is higher now than pre pandemic.

“If you look at flight searches to Hawaii or Mexico or Jamaica, they're not only higher than it was the same date two years ago, it's like 50% higher in many cases. I think you're going to see a continued surge, especially going into this summer,” Scott says.

“I would expect planes to be very full. I would expect destinations to be very full as everybody sort of gets back to traveling and doing those wonderful trips and exciting vacations that we all had to put on hold for a little while.”

The rules for what’s open and to whom varies. Listen to my interview with Scott to learn more.
