Hi, I’m your host,

Sarah Mikutel

As an expat, communication coach, and practicing Stoic, I’m here to share the transformative power of Stoicism, practical communication strategies, and the richness of global exploration.

Whether you’re navigating life’s challenges, striving to connect better with others, or seeking more awe and wonder in the world, this podcast is for you.

Why Citizens of the World?

The phrase citizen of the world dates back to the 4th century BC, when the philosopher Diogenes of Sinope declared, “I am a citizen of the world.” This bold statement rejected the idea of allegiance to a single city or nation, emphasizing instead our shared humanity.

Inspired by this ancient concept of cosmopolitanism, a core principle of Stoicism, this podcast explores what it means to transcend borders — geographic, mental, and cultural. We are all connected, each of us a vital part of a larger whole.

But connection isn’t just about geography. It’s about how we communicate—how we listen, how we express ourselves, and how we bridge divides in a world that can often feel polarized.

Good communication is essential for a healthier society, and it’s also key to thriving as individuals. Whether it’s building stronger relationships, advancing in your career, or simply feeling more confident in your voice, communication is a skill that can transform your life.
